bar miyako and black vodka martini

“Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Blavod black vodka’s sting,
Sweet and dry vermouth springs…
…For a cocktail of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.”

As Halloween draws near, how about a black vodka martini to get into the proper mood? The cocktail is made with Blavod Black Vodka, which gets its color from Catechu, an extract from Asian acacia trees. Despite its scary appearance, the martini is very smooth in taste — much nicer than the Macbeth witches’ brew —  so please stop by if your interest is piqued!

This week, #barmiyako is open as usual from 7pm to 1am on Monday to Friday, and from 7pm to 12 midnight on Saturday.  Hope to see you all again soon!

Another new gin addition to #barmiyako : No. 209 Chardonnay Barrel Reserve Gin from San Francisco, aged for 119 days in Chardonnay barrels from Napa Valley’s Edge Hill Estate Winery.

With a butter toffee aroma, the gin feels sweet at first, but then evolves as the juniper and other gin botanicals kick in and then finishes with a spicy tang – in other words, a long tasting, very interesting gin! It’s lovely either neat or on the rocks, but also makes a somewhat unique Negroni, so please stop by if your interest is piqued!
