SHISO gin, which just started shipping this month, is “a bright and fruity herbal fusion” made with locally grown red shiso leaves. The spirit was so popular that we scrambled to quickly place an order for a new bottle, so please stop by if your interest is piqued!
This week, #barmiyako is open from 7pm to 1am on weekdays and from 7pm to 1am. On Saturday, April 22, bar miyako will be closed but bar miyako living next door will be open from 7pm to 12 am, so hope to see you all back at the bars soon!
April marks the start of the new fiscal year in Japan, a time for new hopes, fresh starts and for bar miyako — new and refreshing gin!
We now have two new gins from the Nagano, Japan-based Nozawa Onsen Distillery: Nozawa and Iwai. Nozawa delivers a juniper, cedar and lemon-infused finish “reminiscent of a walk through the forest,” according to the distillery, while the fruity and floral Iwai, with its subtle flavors of cherry blossom, plum and applewood is “a celebration of Nozawa’s harvest seasons.” Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate the start of spring and new beginnings!
