ゴールデンウィーク明けの #barmiyako ですが、通常通り月曜〜金曜の19時〜25時、土曜日の19時〜24時まで営業しております。

写真のカクテルはウェスパー。来週開催の「ナショナルカクテルウィーク」でもハイライトさせていただきますが、ウェスパーは伝説のスパイ、ジェームズ・ボンド007が命名したカクテル。レシピにはジン、ウォッカ、リレを使用していますが、bar miyako ではこれに加えて秘密の材料をもう1つ追加してますので、ご興味のある方はぜひお店で!

Alas, Golden Week is over … but bar miyako is open from 7pm to 1am on Monday to Friday, and from 7pm to 12 midnight on Saturday! Why not  stop by for a drink to help get you back into the groove?

Pictured is the Vesper, the cocktail created by fictional spy James Bond 007, which we’ll be featuring next week during National Cocktail Week.  Made with gin and vodka and Lillet, we add one more secret ingredient to the mix, so please stop by if you’d like to find out!

The legendary spy James Bond 007 is famous for his love of martinis, such as the vodka martini (shaken, not stirred) and the Vesper martini (his very own creation), but he actually does drink a variety of many other cocktails while saving the world and seducing beautiful women. In fact, the very first cocktail Bond orders in the 1953 Ian Fleming novel “Casino Royale,” is an Americano (photo right) – a drink made with Campari, sweet vermouth and soda. The cocktail, which appears a number of times in the novels, originated in Italy and is said to have been the favorite drink of American ex-pats during Prohibition, hence the name.

In the 2006 movie version of “Casino Royale” starring Daniel Craig, the first drink Bond orders is “a large Mount Gay with soda,” which results in a Mount Gay and coke being served. Mount Gay is a rum from Barbados, made with exceptional Barbadian sugar molasses and pure water filtered from coral limestone, of which the island is made. The rum is said to have been favored by Fleming – a well-known rum drinker.

bar miyako will be closed on Wednesday, March 21 for a national holiday, but will be open all other days between Monday to Saturday, 7pm to 1am, so please stop by if you’d like a taste! James Bond fan or not, you’re all welcome, so I hope to see you soon!
