今週は大好きなバーボン、ブラントンのご紹介です。樽の個性を生かすシングルバレル製法による芳醇の味以外にも、惚れポイントが満載なのがこのブラントンです。
一つにはボトルキャップがケンタッキーダービーのサラブレッドを象っているのですが、全部で８種類存在し、それぞれに BLANTON’S の中のアルファベットが一文字が。全部揃えて順番に並べると、レースで走り出してゴールするまでの競走馬の姿が！
もう一つには、ご存知の方も多いかと思いますが、映画「ジョン・ウィック」シリーズで主演のキアヌ・リーブズが満身創痍状態で鎮痛剤代わりに愛飲するのが、ブラントン！第一作ではスタンダードのブラントンを、第二作ではイタリアのホテルで緑ラベルのスペシャルリザーブを口にしています。

Our feature this week is on Blanton’s Bourbon, the “super premium” single barrel Kentucky bourbon.
In addition to the sweet and creamy flavor, Blanton’s is, as some of you may be well aware, the painkiller of choice for John Wick, the neo-noir action antihero played by Keanu Reeves. In the first film, you see John downing the standard Blanton’s and in the second film, he has the special reserve green label edition in Italy.
Additionally, each bottle comes with one of eight unique bottle stoppers featuring a horse and jockey in different strides and poses resembling the stages of a horse race. Eight in total, each stopper is also marked with a single letter that spells Blanton’s when the set is completed. How cool is that?
