高知県出身の植物学者、牧野富太郎博士にちなんだ「マキノジン」を入手しました!

坂本龍馬が愛したとされる蔵元、司牡丹の焼酎に牧野博士が最愛の妻、寿衛子の名前から命名した「スエコザサ」に高知県産のグアバの葉、ブシュカンやショウガ、ハーブなど12種類のボタニカルをに漬け込んで蒸留したマキノジン。柑橘が効いた思いっきり植物感?のあるウッディな味わいとなってますので気になる方はぜひお店で!

We now have an interesting new gin from Kochi Prefecture, Makino Gin, named after the Kochi-born Japanese botanist Tomitaro Makino.

The gin is made using botanicals such as Sueko-zasa (sasaella ramosa), a type of bamboo leaf discovered by Makino and named after his beloved wife, Kochi-grown guava leaves, citrus and herbs. The botanicals are seeped in shochu brewed by the Tsukasabotan brewery, Kochi’s oldest brewery said to have been the favorite of Japanese samurai/hero Ryoma Sakamoto, which is then distilled to create the citrusy and woody gin.
